stripping a lammy at the moment ,n hoping to use as many o the original nuts n bolts,on the rebuild as poss.......any tips on cleaning the rust n makin the nuts n bolts look like new again

I've still got that bottle of annie pearies sweat that you gave me...you know, the stuff you wrang out her bed sheets.....that will shift anything.. I think thats what Cillit Bang is.... ;D Na seriously, if they are to rusty then they probably won't be salvageable..but you could try washing them in petrol or paraffin and the cleaning with Autosol....

as krawf says use the petrol and polish up, go stainless as long as not for tension..theres a place at whin park cockenzie that does stainless nuts and bolts if in a good mood mucho cheapo

Nah dont go stainless mate as it promotes corrosion between two dissimilar metals..... also known as galvanic reaction. just get zinc coated nuts and bolts... easy peasy
