whats the setup of the engine and carb?? And whats wrong? Stage 4 200, 30mm dellorto, took the Ancilloti off and put a vw reverse cone oan. Got it running great wi a x7 needle (top clip) and 120 main running roond the block. Took it oan the open road, opened it up, bogs doon half throttle, main jet kicks in and it takes off, cut back the throttle and its bogging doon, will only run oan start/ 1/4 throttle & 3/4 full throttle, fuck all in the middle. Tried an x12, x7, x13 and x2 needle

30mm carbs for the 200 always seem massive, for touring a an upjetted standard or a 26mm would probaly be easier to set up, paul are you home from the school hols

i know you don't want tae hear this ... but if it's causing that much grief and was running alright before, get rid of the reverse cone and put another anicilotti on

Ok a ken the advice is given wi the best o intentions but some folk are getting confused. Away and make a cup o tea cause Im gonna give yis the history o this and maybe somebody or awebody can come up wi an answer Paul ; 40 slide, AV264 atomiser, feck knows float jet, wotever came with it. Plug is new and disnae really have a colour yet but broon going black. Last plug wis black. Got this engine built aboot 5/6 years ago & efter run in was using it with a vw reverse cone, 225 main jet and x13 needle. Ran great wi that set up and wi the VW, bottom end was unbelievable, pulling ower the steepest o hills in fourth nae probs, top end maybe no the greatest but suited me fine. Scabby 2009 and travelling doon ower the moors wis a treat, never missed a beat but coming hame I thot it jist wisnae the same and the VW wis getting louder. Coming back fae the Turkeys rally it siezed and wis going naewhere. August 2009 sent the barrell off to AF, got it back (honed) wi new piston and put it back together. Decided the VW had had its day and bought an Ancillotti (dyno results stated it had the same bottom end as the VW and better top, I never found it) Did 1000 miles run in but wis never happy wi the set up, had to come down to a 118 main and x7 needle but even after run in it never ran right. Struggled up hills and jist didnae seem to have ony pulling power but still got me to Sunderland, Aberfoyle, Beerpigs etc etc last year. Returning fae East Fortune show last September, opened it up and it bogged doon and widnae open up again, shut it off, started it, drove off but could feel it starting tae bog doon when i tried opening it. got it hame drained the tank and filled it wi fresh fuel (last fill up was at a Shell garage and had read some folk were getting problems efter filling up wi Shell). Back doon tae East Fortune next day, same thing happened and happened again coming back. Threw it in the garage and gave it the finger and left it. Took it oot a couple o weeks ago for a spin and felt fine, heading up tae Dreghorn last Monday same thing happened at Danderhall bogging doon, kept going but never went above half throttle. Away and make another cup o tea Bought an x12 needle, fitted it oan Saturday and headed for Dunbar but no for long, couple o miles doon the road opened up to go ower a wee hill and........................same again (noo when it does it, it disnae pick up again, pull back the throttle and it soonds as if its getting starved o fuel, look at the carb and the fuel is spraying oot the carb (open bellmooth i forgot to say). Got it hame and stripped the carb only thing I can see is wee scuff marks oan the slide as if its been rubbing oan summit ?. Decided tae take the Ancillotti off and put the VW back on (u listening ChrisB) as I know how it runs just by the sound o it, wi that exhaust. As i said I've got it running fine around the block but oot oan the open road.........................bog doon when its opened up. Theres nowt wrong wi the set up, it ran fine wi that for years but summit has went wrong somewhere Ps ; efter re-reading awe that tosh before pushing the post button, I've relised its never really ran right since it siezed, mmmmmmmmmmmm the plot thickens

its a bit dificult wi no bein there to try or hear the scoot, when you say bogging down, iis it as though its over fueling? but i would try a AS264 atomiser (its shorter) and a x7 or x2 needle on the second clip down, what plug are you using?
