...so i built our Andy a Polini 210 motor, with cut crank, 26mm carb, heavy flywheel, long gears, and a standard exhaust, and a PM tuning center plug head. just bits i had lying around . all fitted in his mk1 px, and sounds like a meatier standard p200. he was hinting at a torquey low revving motor. taking it for a blast tomorrow, i"ll let ya nar what its like. i even put some pike nuts on his selector box for old time sake! his DR180 motor i did him 6 years ago is nackered , but it only cost him 80 quid ! this one is more expensive, i think its broken the £100 barrier.............

jetted up pretty much straight off the cuff. 140-BE3-132- 55/160 pilot , mixture 2-ish turns out (hole drilled in air filter above main jet stack) bit rich, but told him to run it for a hundred or so miles, and i"ll drop the main to 130 . its a two ring polini, that ive honed out, and chamfered the ports, and fettled the piston, so shouldnt take much running in. took it out for about 5 miles this morning, pulls like a train, no flat spots, and was great to ride. just running a standard exhaust because its a bit of a "love" job (family and all that) and he can buy a better exhaust himself in the future if he wants. to tell the truth, it sounds topper with the standard (brand new) piaggio exhaust on . THRUMMMMMM!!!!!
