take your time with kit and run slighty richer, you should only need bout 500 miles as thats what i did with mine, dont sit at the constant speeds your stating as the rings will slide up an don he barrel but no push out to bed into the chamber its self..
. after the 30 nph stage (150-200 miles) give it short we bursts past the 40 mark ( again around 150-200) and after that 50 mph and again give it a we burst of speed but not to prolonged......do regular checks on the plug as this is a good indicator of how your doing...once run in if your doing constant top end speeds increase your mixture slighty,,,,,,,
right who's gonna post just scream the nuts off it after 100 miles

Norry -- it already had a 22mm delorto carb on it so thats back on with a 122 main jet now -- its running a bit rich (it had a 118 in previous) & has a new crank with race bearings -- that make sense? When i bought it the boy told me it had a race crank in it but it didnt -- the crank that came out is 100% but thought best to upgrade when the bike was in bits.
Seems the sieze was an accumulation 1. Head Cowling had rattled loose 2. One of the seals looked well dodgey when it came out 3. I was probably going too fast trying to catch up (although i passed the troops in Whitehaven when they were filling up & didny ken) 4. Was on the lean side anyway with a 118 main jet in.
I'm an absolute amature in this world but learnin fast -- thanks to all for their help

I'm running in a stage 4 200 built by Andy francis and his advice was to run around 500 miles at 40/45 mph and then gradually increase speed by around 10 mph for another 100 miles and also to vary the sppeds as others has said. He recommended usinf fully synthetic rock oil at 25% mix. Hope that helps but prob mystifies you a bit more ! Like you I am a know feck all guy too

You should only use mineral or semi synth oil when running in iron barrels as fully synth 2T Glazes the rings and barrel instead of letting the rings bed in to barrel and wear ever so slightly to the profile of the barrel..... On iron barrels i give it 500 miles of varied speed and no full throttle, on nicasil, a few heat cycles and 50 miles of decent pace is all you need.

forgot to say that as soon as the engine is run use decent quality semi or full synth. Id only use 3% on a lammy, especially with synth oil, 4% was only used because of the poor lubricating design that lammy big ends have due to the nature of piston ported engines and the fact the 2T oil is more advanced now than the castor based oils of past.
