Boys -- anyone got one of these bad boys that comes with instruction -- the red & white one is coming back oot the huff Gideon pins are in an area that should be well iyaled. Most can be poked out with a finger I use my extension for my ratchet. If it's a little stiff support the con rod whilst tapping it oot.

Red & White one oot the huff & top end stripped this morning -- it'll be off to AF for rebore & new piston in the morning -- checking out what caused it to sieze?
- Exhaust not as tight as it should be? - Muggy inlet manifold on a standard 200 barrel? - Carb Rubber split & sooking in air for a couple of hundred miles?
All of the above?

no so good bud, are the MB rubbers no that bit better made The compound on the MB rubbers seem to be as soft as puppy shite. I've got a Mallossi one to try now that's seems a harder compound, once I get the top end back on I'm going to glue a rubber packer onto the cylinder head cowling to support the underside of the fuel bowl on the carb.

I think I've found the reason the carb rubber kept popping off and then split where & how it did. - The inlet that was on the bike was a Mugello inlet (left in photo below) - The distance between the end of the spigot & groove makes it impossible for the rib on the carb rubber to marry with the groove on the inlet. - The "sound" I was hearing thinking that the rib had found the groove was the end of the spigot hitting the end of the rubber, not the marrying of the groove & rib - When the jubilee clip was less tight the rubber just slipped off the spigot - When the jubilee clip was mega tight the end of the spigot just worked its way through the carb rubber & caused the split. - I now have an AF inlet & look at the difference. - I put the rubber on the AF inlet & lined it up with the Mugello inlet that was on it -- look to see that there's no way that could have lined up with the internal rib on the rubber.

Before fitting the new gudgeon pin put a round file with sandpaper through the piston couple of turns and wipe off dust , makes fitting and removal a lot easier
