Thanks to our very own Shunterspeed for a good day in the classroom (mancave) yesterday rebuilding the red & white yin. Not out the woods yet & still a bit to go, not all plain sailing due to shite parts, but getting there.
Gid club we have

Sunday sesh to conclude this business big Gš All done the leak-down tester leaked Red & White yin fired up again today since the collapse on the way to Aviemore. Took ages to start but a bit of TLC and we're nearly there. Cowlings on the morra, a few miles & hopefully it'll deserve getting it's rear runners on. Thanks again to Shunterspeed for the learnings -- G

OK -- had the Lambretta fear & decided just to check things over after my solo work in my own cave without the teacher. Realized that I'd left the gear cables running over the top of the engine mounts when putting it in -- a 2 min job me thinks, just disconnect & feed under --- eh no that didn't work, next option drop the engine out again eh no, 3rd option disconnect the gear & clutch cables so off I go & do that, 4 hrs later fucking about in the dark trying to get the gears working .............................. success.
Till the next thing I've forgotten ---- oh aye, tighten up back wheel & rear shocky! --

First 100 clicks done on the red & white yin after crank meltdown - both through their MOT last week piece of piss. Gonna struggle to get the miles on the red & white yin before Whitby -- how many mile to run in rings after a hone?

Gonna struggle to get the miles on the red & white yin before Whitby -- how many mile to run in rings after a hone? That's over 200 miles on the red & white one now, just cables needing fettled but bike's going pretty well. Now onto the yellow & white yin. That's had a hone & new rings too but I want to see if I can get it to start better. Currently on a 50 pilot but floods easy when starting, would moving down to a 48 pilot help?

Red & white one packed away for the winter - covered in that AFC50 stuff Brilliant 50 miles around the ramparts of EL yesterday on the yellow & white yin -- 1st few miles going like a bag of shite & then I realized I'd left the choke on -- smoke everywhere - all good apart from the new cables stretching and need adjusted again for the umpteenth time & clutch springs that need Rambo to pull the clutch in -- G

why such heavy springs if its a standard engine bud ? Nae idea mucka -- always been like that, have a plan though, clutch only lights when clutch is nearly right out so moving the trunnion a bit might help a bit. On another subject anyone using that ACF50 stuff -- using it for the 1st time & wondering the best way to cover the bike with it?
