Fuck - stripped manifold thread

Went to tighten exhaust the night , seems to have blown threads on manifold. Looks like a strip doon.

Aye , it was braw, good comany , great weather etc.
Spent all day on gate duty with Nige and some o the LCS lassies, then a couple o drinks ... power nap in room while the rest o them pubbed it up
And guid bleather wi loads o folk at night.

Hoping to strip head & manifold off over weekend maybe and check threads. Never done a lammie before, might call in a few experts

i take it your on about the barrel studs can you check if brass nuts on it if so its no a big job get a set of studs and i use mild steel nuts if you get them and phone me or text and i will shoot down in my new car and fix it

it"s more likely the brass nuts have stripped niffy. use vespa mild steel M7 casing nuts, you can get more of a "nip" on them , then another one on top to lock it together. is it a cast barrel......?? if its ally, you could have fucked the threads in the barrel. you could then helicoil out to M8 , and use vespa 90 smallframe wheel nuts, which are 8mm thread, but 11mm (as opposed to 13mm) spanner size, which will give the required clearance for you to get a spanner on the nuts in the tight space for the downpipe. ballache lammy exhaust nuts mate. ive got a tiny 11mm angled ratchet spanner, ground down on on side, especially for that job. and a cutdown angled ring spanner for the same job, and a ......... well you get the picture...................
