Ever bought a rear hub for your Vespa and had the studs snap off or bought a battery with no acid in, or waited months for a blue indicator lens for your scooter? I bet some of you have!
Well us dealers do not make the stuff we buy from a number of suppliers. most do a wonderful job, quality parts at a good price and delivery next day.
However some do not, some you're constantly on the phone because they've sent faulty goods or you're wondering where that part you ordered weeks or months ago is. There is a limit to the amount of this nonsense you can put up with. I now have one less supplier, thought you might be interested in the slanderous rant I got from them yesterday. Lucky for me I have other good suppliers.
Hi Tony,
Certain matters to clear up, I feel.
Previous long telephone discussions with you indicated you worked late and
the phone was sometimes busy in the evening. The information you gave me
previously was that the business was run from a barn?
Last night, having called earlier and got a busy signal and again five
minutes before you answered, it was again busy. Obvious then for me to
presume you are doing business on your business line. That your business
phone is in your home is a decision you made and one business callers and
customers are not aware of from your adverts.
As you know I spoke with you yesterday morning about your account with us.
Clearly there are problems with your account as there have been for some
time. I wanted to try, yet again, to sort these small problems out.
You place orders on the phone and online, and cannot pay for them. You ask
for them to be held until there are funds available. Bear in mind the
amounts are not overly pricey, considering you are a business. The sum of
£124.00 covered the five invoices currently being held for you. We have had
on several occasions up to six orders lying unpaid due to lack of funds on
your credit cards. You use several different credit cards, all of which at
the time of use, are declined. This creates a problem in our posting of
invoices at close of business EACH DAY and a general headache for my staff.
This is not how we do business, in fact you are the only person we have this
problem with, and have had for some time.
You have continual problems with your bank and fraud. These issues are
nothing to do with us.
You place an order, and you pay for it. If you do not have funds....DO NOT
PLACE THE ORDER.
That saves all the hassle.
Yesterday you spoke to me about a member of my staff in which you insulted
him, that was inappropriate and uncalled for. It is also alleged you swore
and been abusive to my staff on the phone, again, totally uncalled for and
not what we expect in business. Let's face it when you have had a problem
with VE (UK), you haven't been slow to send me a long email telling us what
we are doing wrong. You take pride in being sarcastic, (I have the emails)
but as they say, sarcasm is the lowest form of wit!
You also seem to think that others are interested in your squabbles with VE
(UK), believe me, no one is interested in any of this tittle tattle.
I have learned in business it is not possible to be everything to everyone,
and it is also not possible to keep everyone happy. Service will breakdown,
and is resumed ASAP. You infer you some that some dealers are unhappy, but
we too have information on your company from colleagues in the trade and
your customers have contacted us, but that's our business.
You have made much about losing business on Corazzo. At this time you have
NO orders with us, and how on earth you expect to lose business when the new
colorways have still to be announced, is beyond comprehension. You have
always been kept in the loop regards Corazzo delivery and when the colorways
are known you would have been the first to know - WE TOLD YOU THIS LAST
WEEK. That wasn't good enough. You have to try to usurp the system,
inferring to Corazzo we are not worthy of your business, we're not trying,
etc. We have many dealers who sell Corazzo, and like you want to be kept
informed of the new stocks. Do they chin Corazzo....NO? They appreciate the
lead time involved and await news from us, THE SOLE UK IMPORTER.
In October 2006 when you opened your account at VE (UK) you asked for a
monthly credit account, we rejected your request and you were offered a
credit card account. You then re-approached us in October 2007 for a monthly
credit account, but with your record of problems paying, no one in their
right mind would offer monthly terms in that situation.
Your response was to send emails full of sarcasm, insults and innuendo. Our
decision to refuse you a monthly credit account has been vindicated.
We feel the matter has to be resolved, and accordingly we are closing your
account with us. You have already intimated you are willing to close the
account, therefore we are terminating your account forthwith. One less
problem for both of us I think.
Your access to the VE (UK) trade site has been terminated. You have a
balance of £2.59 from the Corazzo credit we issued last week, and a cheque
will be sent in due course.
We have for over a year, worked hard to try to establish a good working
relationship with Rally Spares.
Few other wholesalers would have bothered, the writing was on the wall from
day one!
Please do not reply, the matter is closed.
