Well,, wasn`t there, obviously, couldn`t make it , yet again. But, from what I`ve been told, it`s finally on it`s last legs.
The overwhelming verdict was that it was shite. Sounds a bit of a shame as I have always liked Kelso, but it would seem that change is required.

weather was crap , i wasn't feeling to good but the whole place was flat, even the dealers are not turning up unless you wanted a t-shirt or a shiny bit of chrome there wasn't much . agree time for a change of venue so here we go gadgies if you could pick an alternative rally where would it be ??

The overwhelming verdict was that it was shite. get were you're coming from Brads , but I don't think you could say it was "shite" ... yes numbers were down, but so what, who gives a fuck. we had a ball on the highland tour last year and there was less than 20 of us The number of dealers was down, but i don't go to a rally just for dealers and there were a couple selling proper parts. some decent/interesting machines in the custom show The bands were ok and the roses tribute seemed to go down well on the saturday ( nige, Jimmy?? ) - silent disco always a success (cheers shep) folks seemed to enjoy the ELSC party tent the bars in the town were doing decent trade without being OVER full the weather was pants , but thats not the fault of the venue, we've all experienced worse weather elsewhere change is good, but where else can you have it that can cope with the numbers where you wouldn't get shit off the locals, i assume they want to keep it within reasonable distance of the border ( 100 miles )so that means it got to be central belt south ?

All points well covered there by Mr B.
I've been near or in a few chats with folk over the last few years about the venue , and like the pro Kelso folk say... find a good venue then if you want a change. Good facilities at Kelso , will be hard to beat.
But , aye , loads of folk tired of it. But, you could say that about Brid etc.....
I prefer small rallies where we all sit around the scoots & tents and get pished and have a laugh.
Turns out , I've booked weddings again for next years date. So won't affect me again though.
I'd be happy to go away with our own merry band of ELSC to a different place every month from May to September - sometimes camping, sometimes in digs. Kerry oot.... iphone music and false taches'
Don't need shite cover bands (cough cough) or parts/tshirt stalls to be entertained.

No sure what folk want oot o a rally, there only so much entertainment they can cram in and they try their best to have something on awe the time (and i thought that both bands were spot on)but there's times you have tae make yir ane and we did, if yi wurnae there yi missed oot. The weather can make or break ony rally and theres only so much you can do stuck in a field in the pissing rain, so we done wot we do best, crammed intae the gazebo and got wired intae the drink and ripped the piss oot o each other. The gazebo might be a pain getting it there but its worth its weight in gold. Unknown to most but when we vacated it tae go doon the toon, the Dalkeith crew took squatters rights and had a wee party o their ane in it What was encouraging was the amount o young folk embracing the scene, no just hanging aboot but getting up oan the dance floor and giving it laldy, ask Shep about the young team in the silent disco which was a roaring success again. There has only ever been three "get you home" dealers at Kelso, Barry Turner/Andy Francis/Northumberland Scooters and they three were there, the stalls that were missing WERE the shiney chrome, whippy aerials, spotlights tat stalls I honestly dont know what else can be done, for 5/6 years now I've heard Kelso is pants and needs changed but for 5/6 years I've heard no viable alternative, it is what you make of it, more than likely its the format that needs changed. I know financially at least, it was a success. You know life doesnt have to be complicated awe the time, life can be simple. If you don't like fish, don't eat in a fish restaurant. If your fish tastes shite, eating it off another plate wont make it taste ony better

Of all the beautiful places here we have it at Kelso for me it's a boring road, locals from around here turn up annually without a scooter in sight or any intention of getting one. It may be the case it's happening at brid etc and that I wouldn't know as I Don't know the locals. I think the organisers are scared to move it due to fear the English won't travel north, I think the good English scooterists will. If it dwindles away over the next few years it'll have to be moved.....besides wot if you breakdown have oily hands Where TF do you get a seaside slag in Kelso to clean yer Mits?

Just needs more on site to do during the day ,, enjoy the custom show , catch up with some folk , good site , nice town , if the weather is good any rally would be good but feel its stale ,, think since the £50 a time for cars etc it's dwindled in numbers especially from down south .. As earlier I said whereabouts could you host another venue etc ,, else could party in a toilet and it would be good ,,any hoo Newark has on paper so much more to offer so that's my next rally

Just needs more on site to do during the day Just don't get this idea that it's down to the rally organisers to provide the punters with entertainment all day ....it's not supposed to be a fuckin pop festival , it's a scooter rally.... how much used to get provided in the "old" days ... next to nothing !! As it is they provided on site all day bar, food, custom show, a variety of stalls, fairground rides, tattoo artist, day time band and music, night time doo, silent disco... there's been slow ride and gymkhana in the past but for what i remember they were poorly attended. they also had a blow up 5 a side that no one used
