Lets be honest all I look and hope for is that my scooter gets me there and back safely.......there's plenty bevy........and I have a laugh with mates or acquaintances ( you choose which category your in ) and all of the above were accomplished. If the weathers good all the better..... As a club or as individuals we can ride our scooters to nicer places...but a National is a National it's a bit of a free for all for families, non scooter riders, kids, oldies and a small sprinkling of comedy Mods, ancient Skins, Psychobillys and Punks all reliving their youths.
Me.......I'm just enjoying myself

Yep got to agree Chris its what you make of it. its been going for around 10 years now and still find it enjoyable and different things to do.

The overwhelming verdict was that it was shite. Sounds a bit of a shame as I have always liked Kelso, but it would seem that change is required.
Maybe rather than listening to wot uve been told u shld try attending it and c for urself and making up your own mind.

May 28, 2014 at 6:31pm . Of all the beautiful places here we have it at Kelso for me it's a boring road, locals from around here turn up annually without a scooter in sight or any intention of getting one. It may be the case it's happening at brid etc and that I wouldn't know as I Don't know the locals. I think the organisers are scared to move it due to fear the English won't travel north, I think the good English scooterists will. If it dwindles away over the next few years it'll have to be moved.....besides wot if you breakdown have oily hands Where TF do you get a seaside slag in Kelso to clean yer Mits?
Theres a lot of time and effort goes into organising Kelso. You may not think so but I know people have a bad opinion of things that have happened over the years but rather than just saying needs a change hows about putting some ideas forward venues and things you would like to c there etc etc. I think we all know that it is the case all over that people just turn up in cars not just at kelso. I don't think its a case of being scared but more of finding a suitable venue to meet the criteria of a No 1s rally (as members of the ELSC will know how hard it was to put on a small rally for a couple of hundred people and difficulties of dealing with councils etc etc). Still amazes me when working on the gate from talking to people who luv kelso or its their first time especially the English and Irish. So please don't be shy with ur suggestions for what you expect at a rally and I will put it to the No1s committee but please remember by not going ur just giving in to the car brigade.

i agree Stu but would putting forward ideas work as this year the No1's had a meeting without most of the No1's being present and then agreeing to a meeting after the bands etc where picked ? Kelso is a good venue, lovely town, good facilities but needs freshing up with m,ore things to keep folk onsite, i wont knock those that help put it on but to be fair the amount of jokes of where the cash goes from it is rife which if proper accounts where put forward and audited then maybe it would take some of the stigma away and then see what funds would be available to put other ideas in place. 5 aside football in flippers with the champs getting £50 worth of drink gets a thumbs up from me. On another note was there any form of communication to those that put keslo on this year regarding the grievances that clubs felt about not having a say in what was what ?

Cheers Chris but the main point was that all the bands etc where in place before the No1's meeting where if the rally was a disaster financially the else would have to pay a share along with other affiliated clubs for any losses which I found out on the night of our AGM
2nd point was they should be more accountable which some have said this year was the 1st as so many questions where raised regarding this so quash some of the rumours of which I'm in do doubt are many but if your seen to be doing the right thing then that's your 1st line of defence as some put more effort into running Kelso than some would do into scootering in a life time
